What does Owner-Build Mean?

A lot of people get confused or even afraid of the term “Owner-Build”, so we though we would explain the process with you:

Blue Fang Studios will assist you with designing the pool, landscape, pergola, outdoor kitchen and/ or the fire features that you desire! In this design process we will include your current home and yard just as it looks, so you will get a real 3d experience of exactly how your new outdoor living space will look.

We will work with you on revisions and options until it looks exactly how you desire. With 10+ years in the pool service & repair industry along with our 5+ years on the design & construction side, we will design everything so it will function best with your needs!

Once the designs are approved, we will forward everything over to our CAD team to create the CAD construction plans and then on to the engineering team to finish up the plans. While those teams work diligently to get everything detailed and perfect, we will provide you with a detailed list of each phase of the project, so you know exactly what to expect and exactly how the project will progress. We will also supply you with a detailed list of professional, trusted & local subcontractors for each phase of the project. This means that you will be hiring each individual contractor rather than paying a pool builder $30k – $40k to hire the same subcontractors to build your pool, so you can start obtaining estimates.

As soon as the CAD and Engineering plans are completed (typically 2-3 weeks), you will file for the building permit with your city/ county as well as submit the plans to your HOA. All of which we will assist you with.

Once you have an APPROVED permit, we contact the first subcontractor to schedule the start of your luxury outdoor living project. Hiring the subcontractors individually also allows for the project to progress quicker than most pool builders as well.

As you can see, there is no need to be fearful of the “Owner-Build” process as Blue Fang Studios will be there each and every step of the way to ensure you get the luxury outdoor living space that you deserve.
